Speed Limiters
A speed or rpm limiter increases safety and contributes to the cost-efficiency of the vehicle due to higher fuel efficiency and reduced wear of the engine, tyres and brakes.
Economical and safe
Safety considerations and legal provisions are usually instrumental to the purchase of speed limiters. Reduction of the emission of harmful substances was one of the reasons why legislative powers set a maximum permissible driving speed. For years now, Groeneveld has supplied rpm and speed limiters that meet all international standards and test requirements.
Driving comfortably
The Groeneveld electronic speed limiter leaves engine power fully intact, while setting a maximum speed and/or rpm. Due to its digital electronic control, the speed limiter operates smoothly and highly accurately. The limiter also takes changing circumstances such as downhill, uphill and head wind into account, without the driver noticing anything. The EFA limiter motor is of the dual operating type - it can both thrust and pull. As a result, the driver does not need any extra strength to keep the accelerator in the correct position.
A sensible investment
- saves fuel costs
- saves maintenance and repair costs of brakes, engine and tyres
- increased road safety
- increased driver comfort
- reduces burden on environment
In vehicles with Power Take-Off (PTO), limiting the second engine rpm is generally possible. All Groeneveld limiters feature a speedhold switch which allows temporary limitation at a second, lower, top speed.
Additional driving comfort with Cruise Control
Driving with Groeneveld Cruise Control is much more comfortable. Cruise Control enhances the advantages of the speed limiter, particularly with regard to driver comfort. All the driver has to do is to touch a small dashboard lever. It will maintain the current driving speed, allowing the driver to take his foot off the accelerator! As soon as the brake, clutch, engine brake or retarder is actuated, the Cruise Control switches off. The electronics take changing conditions such as downhill, uphill and head wind into account to prevent fluctuations in driving speed.
